Mitigation

Mitigating circumstances are unplanned, unpredictable or unavoidable circumstances which prevent a student from meeting an assessment deadline.

Students who wish to apply for mitigating circumstances must use the appropriate form.
Mitigation forms and information about the mitigation procedure are available on Moodle.

Often students who are prevented from submitting work because of personal circumstances could benefit from additional support from Student Services.

You may require support with issues that have led to the mitigating circumstances, e.g. personal, medical, emotional or academic. Or you may need support through and beyond the mitigation process. Whatever your circumstances you do not need to struggle alone so please contact the Higher Education Student Adviser for the support you need. This service is impartial and confidential.
